Geologic Hazards

The geosystem of the Cascade Range and High Lava Plains are characterized by complex volcanic terrains with hazards ranging from unstable slopes and landslides to fault activity, erosion, ground subsidence and collapse features associated with volcanic flows (lava tubes). The Wallace Group’s collection of geologists and engineers use their expertise, technical knowledge and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to help clients avoid unexpected geologic and man-made conditions that could lead to system failures, property damage, cost/schedule over-runs and life safety concerns.

Geologic Hazards

To prevent these issues, our geologic hazard capabilities include:

  • Geologic and geomorphic mapping
  • Terrain analysis
  • Aerial photo analysis
  • Landslide assessment and mitigation
  • Rockfall hazard assessment
  • Slope stabilization
  • Site-specific seismic and liquefaction analysis
  • Subsurface void (i.e. lava tube) mitigation
